How to Mount Your {Aluminum Banner Frame|Vinyl Graphics|Banner| on a Truck
most common aluminum framing material for this purpose is the TS21 Aluminum bar.
You can affix the TS21 {frame|bar| with screws on the delivery vehicle, trailer sides, or use the other method that some of our clients have employed to do the project by using double-sided tape. The tape needs to be an Ultra or Very High Bond (UHB/VHB) double-coated tape employed to create a powerful permanent bond. Foamed acrylics generally will conform more securely to an uneven or concave surface than a solid acrylic. In this example the client is employing a solid acrylic adhesive tape.
When you have measured and trimmed the bars to the selected measurement, affix the tape onto the rail. Make sure that the surface of the truck is squeaky dirt-free. Completely wipe away dirt, , grime and pollution films.
Then secure the rails on the truck side.
This will provide a strong railing system in which to install your banner.
The banner will be held on the four sides of the aluminum rails.
To install the gripping rail TS80 see: "Installing TS80" PDF located on the Internet site (www.tensioningsolutions.com ) at the tab "installing Tips"
As described in "Installing Graphics" start placing and putting in the frame the graphic using 4" long TS80 pieces.
After that replace the 4" TS80 with the 11' 5" bar.
At the corners let the TS80 bars to overlap, and utiliIizing a hacksaw cut the two extra rail sections (See "Installing the Graphic" on our web site www.tensioningsolutions.com). When finished, it is time to trim the extra banner material with a cutting knife.
You should now have a drum-like secure banner mounted! When the graphic is tightly fixed on all four rails you'll have issue connected to wind or vehicle speed on the roadway (veil effect).
How to Change Banners on a Aluminum Rail Frame
Place the frame on a vertical surface. Then position the graphic starting
from the top.
At every 12" increment insert, at the top, a two inch piece of TS80.
Move further along the rail and insert the 2" TS80 on the sides.
Then, complete the lower edge of the banner.
The graphic is not tensioned during this part of the installation, you'll tighten the banner when replacing the 2" sections with a whole TS80 rail.
Replacing the two-inch pieces with a TS80 rail.
Begin with the top and remove the initial two-inch TS80 and insert the TS80 bar with a dead blow hammer. The TS80 has to be inserted at an angle Make sure to leave an extra four-inch section on both sides of the rails.
Continue replacing the 2" sections with the TS80 bar on the sides and complete the installation at the bottom.
Very Essential: The banner tension is applied when the TS80 placed at a slant is flattened by utilizing a dead blow hammer.
When the 4 TS80 bars are in place, start to cut the TS80 utilizing a hacksaw or a sharp cutting knife.
Note: Try both the cutter and the hacksaw and use the tool that is more effective.
Continue with the hacksaw, scratch| a mark on the bottom of the TS80 that you will utilize as guide to cut the additional TS80 rail.
At this time use your dead blow hammer to flatten the 2 TS80 rails.
The last step: Use a cutter to trim the extra graphic material around the custom banners, {using the TS80 as your guide. You are done!
